Updating Light Fixtures
Replacing outdated or builder grade light fixtures is a simple and inexpensive way to really bring your home up to date. Before and After – Traditional vs. Modern Farmhouse Light Fixtures
You can really see what a dramatic difference it made when I switched the old traditional light fixtures for modern farmhouse light fixtures. Since my living room, dining room and entryway are all connected, I stuck with a base metal of oil rubbed bronze and used other contrasting materials. The dining room chandelier has a beautiful patina which is formalized by the crystals to give the perfect rustic glam feel. The wood in the living room chandelier warms everything up and balances the room with the hardwood floors.
Budget Friendly Lighting Options
When I first thought about Chandeliers, I was thinking they were going to cost thousands of dollars. Of course, there are plenty out there that do, but I was able to find mine on sale at one of my favorite stores for well under $400. Most of my other light fixtures were under $200 and several under $100! My kitchen chandelier was just over $100, and looks so similar to the Restoration Hardware orb that I had been swooning over.
